Indigo Experience- An Introduction to Plant Based Indigo Dyeing

In this hands-on natural dyeing workshop with Manitoba-grown flowers, you'll learn about what makes dyeing with indigo unique, surface design techniques, and create an indigo-dyed bandana entirely hand-made by you.

 

Now & Then: A Journey in Time (4 Week Program)

Now & Then: A Journey in Time is a program that encourages people living with early to moderate symptoms of dementia and their care partners to explore the Manitoba Museum s many collections.

During four lively sessions led by a Museum Learning Facilitator, participants will explore old memories and create new ones through objects, activities, and stimulating discussions. Each session highlights one of the Museum s distinct galleries.

Learn how to make your own pair of hand-crafted traditional moccasins in our upcoming workshop with artist Cynthia Boehm. Taking place over three sessions, the workshop will include a visit behind-the-scenes into the Museum vaults with Dr. Amelia Fay, Curator of the HBC Museum Collection. All materials are provided.

Learn how to make your own pair of beaded, fur trimmed mukluks with artist Gloria Beckman. Taking place over four session, the workshop will also include a behind the scene experience that will allow you to view some of the Manitoba Museum s collection of mukluks and other footwear, with an artifact showcase and talk by Dr. Amelia Fay, Curator of the HBC Collection.
