A Manitoba Museum Family Membership includes up to six individuals who permanently reside in one household. Additional people living in the same household can be added onto the membership for a nominal fee (Adult Add-On: $30.00 / Child Add-On: $10.00).

A Manitoba Museum Individual membership includes one adult aged 18-64.

Membership: Organization

A Manitoba Museum Organization membership includes eight member cards addressed to the name of the non-profit organization. Member cards can be distributed to the organization s staff and clients as the organization sees fit.

Tribute Gala

The Tribute Gala has been rescheduled to April 15, 2021 | The Manitoba Museum's Tribute Gala looks to the future by honouring the leaders of tomorrow. A portion of every ticket and sponsorship, as well as donations to the event, supports the Museum's Access for All community initiative that helps ensure educational, fun, and memorable Manitoba Museum visits for individuals in our community regardless of social or economic barriers.

Take a virtual nature walk through the Museum Galleries as we focus on the interesting ways animals behave in order to survive! Learn how animals are suited to their environments, explore the differences between young and mature animals, and contrast different life cycles of Manitoba animals in this interactive presentation.

Many of the foods we eat today were domesticated and cultivated by First Nations farmers. This interactive program will keep students engaged through questions and answers and the playing of a fun vocabulary bingo game. Participants will learn about the importance of First Nations agriculture in world history, how we know about this history, and why it is important to us today.

Virtual Field Trip: Inuit: People of the North

Participants will learn about the resourcefulness of Inuit communities and their use of skin, stone, bone, and snow. We will investigate artifacts such as the ulu, kudlik, and bow drill, and then take a live virtual tour into the Arctic/Sub-Arctic Gallery. We will examine the flora and fauna of this region and see more examples of historical clothing, weapons, toys, and tools.

 

This program is geared towards the Grade 3 & 4 curriculum and focuses on daily life, technologies, and use of natural resources in historical Inuit communities.

Join us for a virtual adventure highlighting the Manitoba Museums largest artifact, the Nonsuch. An introductory presentation will highlight the historical significance of this Manitoba Museum treasure, followed by a live and interactive virtual tour of the Nonsuch trading ship.

Workshop: Mukluks with Gloria Beckman

Join us for an in-person, socially-distanced mukluk workshop with artist Gloria Beckman. Taking place in the Manitoba Museum s Alloway Hall, you will learn how to make your own pair of beaded, fur trimmed mukluks. You will have a chance to see some of the Manitoba Museum s collection of mukluks and other footwear, with an artifact showcase and talk by Dr. Amelia Fay, Curator of the HBC Collection.
