This one-evening course provides everything you need to learn the constellations and find your way around the sky. You'll learn to identify the most important constellations in the night sky, and how to use them to locate star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies you can see with the unaided eye or binoculars. We'll help you demystify the motions of the night sky by explaining the patterns or cycles that make it all work.

We ll highlight the five most common telescope issues people have and how you can solve them easily, with no further expenses. The planets of our solar system are usually bright and easy to find, but seeing them up close requires different techniques than viewing galaxies and star clusters. In this course, you ll learn how to optimize your equipment and your observing site for planetary viewing, what eyepieces and accessories will give you the best results, and how to improve your eye-brain combination by drawing what you see. you ll also get a primer on how to take images of the planets through your telescope, with everything from a cell phone camera to a specialized planetary camera - all using free software.

Now & Then: A Journey in Time is a program that encourages people living with early to moderate symptoms of dementia and their care partners to explore the Manitoba Museum s many collections.

During four lively sessions led by a Museum Learning Facilitator, participants will explore old memories and create new ones through objects, activities, and stimulating discussions. Each session highlights one of the Museum s distinct galleries.
