First Farmers:
Many of the foods we eat today were domesticated and cultivated by First Nations farmers. This interactive program will keep students engaged through questions and answers and the playing of a fun vocabulary bingo game. Participants will learn about the importance of First Nations agriculture in world history, how we know about this history, and why it is important to us today.
This program is geared towards the grade 8 curriculum and focuses on how primary sources such as written records, archaeology, and oral history show us how farming developed in the Americas.
Virtual Field Trips take place on Zoom. Registrants will receive an email confirmation link with instructions on how to join the Zoom Webinar. One registration is valid for one device.
